Hi, all future travellers! My name is Clarissa and travel is an absolute passion for me. It is the one thing in life that I believe every person should try at least once, and at OVC we will do our utmost to help you make your dreams a reality!
My travel career started while I was studying towards my Travel and Tourism Degree. In 2003 I set off on my first work & travel experience to the UK where I spent a bit of time in London and eventually ended up in the beautiful town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire. I met new people, ate weird food - including LOTS of chips and baked beans -YUCK! I grew more independent while gaining a different outlook on life.
During this time I was fortunate enough to travel to many places in Europe and some of my experiences included eating the BIGGEST pretzels in Munich, marvelling at the Alps in Switzerland, eating crêpes on the Champs Elyseés in Paris, almost getting run over by a bicycle in Amsterdam, tasting Schnapps in Austria, getting lost in Rome and watching the sunset while floating through the canals of Venice.
Besides Europe, I have also travelled to countries in Africa including Uganda, Swaziland, Lesotho and my favourite - MOZAMBIQUE, where the diving is excellent, by the way! I have also travelled to the States, Mexico, Thailand and Bali.

My love for travelling started at just 16 years old, when I left the country for the very first time to participate in a series of concerts in Belgium, Germany and Austria. Somehow I found my way to OVC and joined the Au Pair program in 2021 where my travelling dreams came true as I travelled to 14 states in the US. Im always on the lookout for my next adventure, whether its exploring a new city or hiking through the mountains. I love immersing myself in different cultures, trying new foods, and meeting new people along the way.
l have a bucket list a mile long of places I still want to visit.
When Im not jet-setting around the globe, you can find me in Bloemfontein, planning my next trip, reminiscing about past travels, or at the office helping others to follow their dreams.
I cant wait to see where OVC takes me next!
