My first Overseas trip was through the OVC and I had the time of my life. The bug had bitten. So I decided to change careers, from Civil Engineering and Drafting to Travel.
Having travelled quite a bit prior to the change, I knew I was making a change for the better. I have travelled to about 18 countries since then and I have experienced all types of accommodation and modes of transport, and have had the most wonderful experiences.
One of the highlights being the Hockenheim Formula 1 Grand Prix.
To work in the travel industry, you have to be passionate about travel, and after 11 years, I still love it.
Once the travel bug bites. It is watch out world. And like anything in life, it’s what you make of it.
The travel bug really got me when I had the wonderful opportunity to Au pair in the USA. I had never thought I would live overseas until I had the chance with the program. I was able to make so many local and international friends and travel to way more places I thought possible. I always say, everyone should travel at least once in their lives. Rather sooner than later. It opens your mind up to so many of what "could be" and you see the world in its entirety. For me, it’s one of the best forms of personal growth. I really enjoy working in the travel industry because now I get to help others experience the wonders thereof.
