Hi, I’m Marlien.
After matriculating, I spent two incredible years in America working as an au pair through OVC, where I was placed with a wonderful host family in New Jersey.
When I returned home, I knew my journey wasn’t over. I wanted to experience more of the world, which led me to au pair in the Netherlands for another year — once again through OVC.
Those three years truly changed my life. They gave me unforgettable experiences, personal growth, and memories I will cherish forever. It was everything I could have hoped for as an au pair, and I have OVC to thank for making it all possible.
And just like that, I became part of the OVC family.
My name is Madelein Groenewald.
After matriculating, I joined a youth group that allowed me to travel extensively across South Africa, as well as Mozambique and other parts of Africa. Those three years of travel sparked a deep passion for exploring new places and connecting with different cultures.
Following my travels, I entered the recruitment industry, where I had the privilege of helping many applicants find the right opportunities for their future. My passion lies in creating opportunities for people and opening doors for them to explore the world.

I’m Himeshni Naidoo, the Marketer for OVC KZN, and if there’s one thing I love—it’s adventure! 🌍✈️ I’ve been to six countries so far, and trust me, I’m just getting started!
I studied International Relations, which basically means I have a fancy degree in knowing how the world works… but let’s be real—the best way to understand the world is to explore it! That’s exactly what I did when I became an au pair in the USA. I was based in Philly, and took care of two amazing kids, and when I wasn’t on babysitting duty, I was traveling, making lifelong friends, embracing new cultures, and growing as a person.
When I got back to SA, I saw an opportunity at OVC and thought—hold on, I get to talk about travel for a living? Sign me up! And here I am, helping YOU make your own travel dreams come true.

My journey with OVC began in 2012 when they gave me the opportunity to become an au pair in the USA. I lived in Alabama and Georgia with an incredible host family, made lifelong friends from all over the world, and explored different cities during the two years I spent there.
When I returned home to South Africa, I joined OVC as an au pair recruiter and quickly grew within the company. In 2020, I proudly became a franchise owner — a milestone that reflects both my passion for travel and my commitment to helping others achieve their dreams.
We strive to make every person’s travel dreams a reality. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to more countries, visit our overseas partners in Thailand and the USA, and experience a Topdeck tour through the UK, Wales, and Ireland.
