Diploma in Applied Management Level 7 (Tuition fee NZ$17 750)
This management diploma is a 1 year course. To be eligible for acceptance, you need to have a Bachelors Degree and 2 years of work experience. Non-degree holders need to have 6-8 years of proven work experience. Students will be grounded in the essentials of Financial Management, Management Perspectives, Operations Management and Marketing. These core modules will be followed by elective studies in one of Professional Retailing, Project Management or Procurement & Supply Chain Management. Unique to New Zealand Career College is the provision of a 9 week internship for Retail Management and an optional internship for the other two streams. The course is based at the NZCC Auckland City Campus.
Diploma in Professional Cookery (Professional Chef) Level 5
(Tuition fee NZ$ 20 200 year 1, NZ$13 760 year 2)
This is an 80 week diploma. Learn the advanced skills required to work as a professional Chef in the hospitality industry. This course includes cookery fundamentals, hospitality service, restaurant cookery, commercial kitchen management, menu development, management in the development of culinary products and services, current cookery innovations, management principles of F&B service, and concepts of food production management. Students can choose to major in Patisserie or Gastronomy. The second year of this diploma contains a 600 hour fully paid internship. The internship placement is arranged by the institute and offers the perfect platform for a professional full-time placement after graduation, while also allowing students to earn some NZ$’s through full-time employment in the final year. Professional Cookery is in very high demand in NZ and throughout the world, skilled Chefs are highly sought after. These jobs are on the Long Term Skills Shortage List. The course is based at the NZMA Sylvia Park Campus – Auckland.
Diploma in Hospitality Management Level 6
(Tuition fee NZ$ 20 960 year 1, NZ$ 13 000 year 2 – complete in 80 weeks)
This is an 80 week diploma course. An industry relevant Management Diploma that would suit anyone interested in pursuing a career in the hotel, resort, restaurant, catering, event, banqueting and function industries. It incorporates specialized training in hospitality skills, food and beverage management, room management, accounting, HR, quality management, and sales and marketing. Includes 6 months internship, student must work 600 hours during the course of study. It is an excellent opportunity to arrange a full-time employment position before graduating. The internship placement is arranged by NZMA. The course is based at the NZMA Sylvia Park Campus – Auckland.
Diploma in Business Management Level 6
(Tuition fee NZ$15 400 year 1, NZ$7 260 year 2 - completed in 80 weeks)
This diploma is an 80 week course based at the Sylvia Park Campus. Whether you want to start your own business or work in someone else’s, NZMA’s Level 6 Diploma in Business will lay all the foundations you need for a successful future in the sector. You’ll graduate with a broad range of practical business skills, sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel – and even a business plan! 20 Hour per week course. The course is based at the NZMA Sylvia Park Campus – Auckland.
Travel And Tourism Management diploma Level 5
(Tuition fee NZ$20 900 year1, NZ$9 000 year 2 - completed in 72 weeks)
This is a two year (72 week) diploma. The tourism and travel courses prepare students for a range of careers in the industry, from hotels to tourist information offices, travel agencies, airlines, duty free, rental cars and lots of other tourism companies. Our classes are small with a maximum of 22 students which ensures that each student gets individual help when they need it. The course tutor will also be a mentor, meeting with students regularly, providing feedback and advice on their progress as well as goal setting, assisting with compiling a CV and gaining employment.All students experience hands-on learning with industry visits, speakers, field trips and study tours. The diploma study tours are to Hobbiton, Waitomo Adventures in the North Island, and Skyline Skyrides, Real Journeys and AJ Hackett Bungy in the South Island.
The optional international study tour will be to a Pacific Island to visit international resorts and tour operators. Industry partnerships enable students to be presented with numerous opportunities throughout their studies, from work experience at the Koru Lounge and major sporting events through to our exclusive job fairs held in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. Paid internships in the tourism industry are offered to all students enrolled in the diploma programme.
This course is based at one of the 9 campus throughout New Zealand (including Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin)

To be eligible, you need to have passed Matric or an equivalent qualification, and must demonstrate a good command of the English language. For the Diploma in Applied Management, you need to have a Bachelors Degree. (2 years work experience is prefer but not mandatory).
Non-degree holders need to have 6-8 years confirmed Management experience.

**Study terms and holidays are of similar length to those in South Africa.
The student visa allows 20 hours’ of work per week and full-time work over the school holidays. The application takes 2 - 6 weeks. You or a sponsor will need to show proof of funds. A medical examination and a police clearance will be required.

APPLICATION FEE R1 650. Payable to your nearest OVC office, for enrolment and visa assistance. OVC will assist with your travel arrangements and travel medical insurance. You will need a passport, valid for at least 2 years, a Matric certificate or any other higher qualification certificates. Once you receive a conditional offer of acceptance, you will be able to make payment for the first year’s course fees and will then receive your registration documents. These are needed before you may apply for your Student Visa.
You will receive orientation and assistance with all aspects of settling in and living in New Zealand. All students will be met at the airport and taken to their accommodation, which will be arranged before arrival. For more information, please contact your nearest OVC office.
